The 8th edition of the Festival will take place in the time of the Lent, from the 1st of March March to the 10th of April. This interdisciplinary Festival refers to Polish tradition of this period, which is a source of philosophical, theological and artistic inspirations, allowing to present contemporary, current view of the artists on Passion issues in complementary way.
The essence of the festival is to force a deep reflection among its spectators and participants, being a result of aesthetic and spiritual experiences.
This year's edition of the festival is dedicated to the issue of the relation with mother, in reference to the archetype of mother on numerous levels (mother – Church, mother – Homeland, mother – Earth, biological mother), because it encompasses basic cultural values rooted in collective awareness of each community.
"Nowe Epifanie - Gorzkie Żale" (New Epiphanies – Lenten Lamentations) Festival is organised by the Centre of the Thought of John Paul II and co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
