„Biskupin” exhibition is addressed above all to children and school children, for whom coming to the exhibition is often the first contact with archaeology.

In accessible way, the exhibition presents everyday life of the population of Lusatian culture in the area of fortified settlement built on an island of Biskupin Lake in the early Iron Age (about 2700 years ago).

The remnants of the settlement were discovered in 1933 by Walenty Szwajcar, local school teacher. Since the first excavations in 1934, this unique archaeological site has gained popularity and fame not only in Poland, but also abroad.

The settlement was examined in 75% and it provided extensive information about buildings and defence system, but also everyday life of its residents.

The exhibition presents photographs from pre-war excavations with outstanding photo of the peninsula with a part of exposed settlement taken from a balloon.

Attractive elements of the exhibition are: a model of the settlement, a model presenting construction of a hut, as well as recreated interior of a Biskupin hut with its interior furnishing– a fireplace, a loom, farming tools and everyday use objects.

The exhibition is complemented by half-hour long film about Biskupin titled "Gród nad jeziorem" (Settlement on the Lake).
