We invite you to the eighth edition of La Folle Journée Festival, organized by Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra. Over the course of three days, the Festival will feature 55 concerts in the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera, involving nearly 1,000 artists from all over the world. This year’s theme is "La Danse" – music inspired by dance.

The organizers of this year La Folle Journée want to show the profound impact of dance in the music. Apart from well-known musicians, such as Alena Baeva or the Apollon Musagète Quartett, La Folle Journée also invites the best ensembles from music schools in Poland, providing young artists with an opportunity to perform in front of large audiences.

The festival program includes the most interesting examples of dance inspirations in classical music. In addition, the varied repertoire of the concerts includes pieces illustrating influence of dance on different musical genres such as musical, movie music, jazz but also folk and oriental music. In addition, during the festival there will be dance shows and workshops, educational meetings and special concerts for children.

La Folle Journée is an international festival founded in 1995, by its originator and artistic director is René Martin - the creator of festivals and organizer of numerous concerts around the world. For many years the festival has been successfully held in France, Japan and also in Poland since 2010. The festival's mission is to overcome the stereotypes associated with classical music by organizing short concerts presenting an accessible and varied repertoire. Low ticket prices and numerous free concerts allow to participate in a variety of events.
