International Jazz Jamboree Festival 2017
2 November 2017 (Thursday) - 5 November 2017
Studio Koncertowe Polskiego Radia im. Witolda Lutosławskiego, Jacka Kaczmarskiego 59 (map)

This year's edition of Jazz Jamboree is a desire to revive one of the oldest festivals in Europe. Jazz Jamboree Festival will take place at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw between November 2-5.

The origins of the festival go back to 1958, when the first edition named Jazz 1958 took place, the following editions were already under the name Jazz Jamboree.

Throughout its sixty-year history, Jazz Jamboree has hosted nearly all of the finest jazz musicians in the world! Thousands of musicians, with nearly half a million spectators are undoubtedly one of the huge achievements of this Polish Jazz Festival.

"The new" Jazz Jamboree is supposed to be rejuvenated and handed over to the younger generation - The organizers thus want to change the convention of typical jazz festivals and give the stage to the young.

Under the slogan "the Second Wave of Polish Jazz", the rising stars will get more attention, but not in confrontation with big foreign figures, but rather collaborating with them in specially initiated projects.

At the festival, leaders of contemporary jazz are invited to work with young Polish musicians in various compositions and projects. Leaders will be given the opportunity to compose special songs that will be performed and recorded at the festival. This will give the opportunity to publish records that can be a good recommendation in the world for the young performers.
