Pina Bausch's famous choreographic passage: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, from the spectacle Nelken (1982), is being danced by audiences around the world thanks to the Pina Bausch Foundation. This time - in Warsaw as part of the Body/Mind Festival

Anyone can participate, professionals and amateurs, experts and geeks, old and young. Together with friends, family, colleagues as well as with strangers - united in a temporary community thanks to the original strength and joy of dance. In gardens, schools, parks and car parks, or - as in Warsaw - on the city square, where will take place the final of short choreographic workshops on September 30th. The workshops will be held earlier in Warsaw schools and various educational institutions. All those who are familiar with choreography of the passage can also join the dance final - the instructions can be found at: www.

The so-called lines or "passages" are the returning and characteristic feature of many performances by the legendary German choreographer Pina Bausch. These are sequences of movements with repetitive steps and gestures performed by dancers standing in a long line, which often come between the audience. Pina Bausch Foundation, by setting up the NELKEN-line project, decided to go one step further. In different places, cities and festivals all over the world, there are workshops where everyone is invited to join and dance the famous passage: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. Using a few simple gestures, shown by the leaders, accidental dancers aligned in a line one by one, passing through the successive phases of movement, symbolically reproduce the eternal circle of the four seasons.

As the past does not exist any longer and the future is not yet present, the present is narrowed to almost the point, and it is a moment of immediacy, improvisation in motion, being "here and now". Looking for this state, the C/U Festival invites to this common bonding and experience of integrating motion power.

Pina Bausch Foundation - after the death of Pina Bausch in 2009, a famous German choreographer and creator of modern dance theater, her son Solomon founded the Wuppertal-based foundation in his mother's name to protect her legacy. The Foundation collects archival material related to Bausch's works and custody over the rights to her choreography, as well as to the scenography and costumes of Rolf Borzik. It also implements projects promoting the art of Pina Bausch, including NELKEN-line, traveling all over the world, addressed directly to the audience.
