The Royal Castle in Warsaw, often referred to as "a monument of Polish history and culture", was partly built in the 14th century, and then expanded in the 16th and 17th century. In that time, it served as a royal residence, place for parliamentary deliberations and it was also a cultural centre of the country. It is safe to say that the Castle still has the role of being the place where the most eminent and famous artists perform and put on their exhibitions.

The Royal Castle organizes artistic events in many different fields. It holds exhibitions (both permanent and temporary), concerts, conferences, lectures, classes and workshops for schoolchildren, etc. and it also screens historical films.

The opening hours vary according to the season of the year and the individual exhibitions but the information is always available on the website.
