Minutes of the third sitting of the Jury of the Ryszard Kapuściński Award for literary reportage
The Jury chaired by Małgorzata Szejnert and composed of Anders Bodegård, Maciej J. Drygas, Tomasz Łubieński and Olga Stanisławska, in the presence of the Secretary of the Award, Bożena Dudko, during the third sitting (on April 2nd, 2011) discussed 5 books shortlisted for the Ryszard Kapuściński Award for literary reportage.
After a discussion, the Jury decided that in the second edition of the competition, the Award (PLN 50,000 and a photograph by Ryszard Kapuściński) will go to a Belorussian reporter and writer
for her book titled War’s unwomanly face
published in 2010 by Czarne.
Moreover, a prize of PLN 15,000 will be awarded to
who translated the book War’s unwomanly face
The laureate of the Award, funded by the Capital City of Warsaw and co-organized by Gazeta Wyborcza daily, will be presented during a gala to be held on Friday, May 13th, 2011.
