(b. 1956) Jacek Giszczak graduated from the Catholic University of Lublin (major in Polish Philology) and from the Paris Sorbonne University (major in Literature). He is a translator of French literature. Lately, he has been specializing in Black Francophone Literature (Ken Bugul - Benin, Dany Laferrière - Haiti, Lyonel Trouillot, - Haiti, Alain Mabanckou – Kongo). He also writes novels and is a singer-songwriter performing his pieces with the Falling Jackets band. He lives in Lublin.
