Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński was a poet and soldier. He wrote about 500 poems, 20 short stories and some prose works. He often referred to the Romantic tradition. Since all his works were created during the occupation period, he presented feelings typical for a young generation fighting for freedom, such as patriotism, and also lyrical longing for the world and nature. Baczyński died on the fourth day of the Warsaw Uprising, during the fight.
